Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Ella, 98 Acres Resort & Spa rests within a lush, ninety-eight-acre tea estate. With panoramic views of Sri Lanka’s iconic Little Adam’s Peak, our this Ella resort in Sri Lanka offers guests an immersive escape into the island’s unspoiled countryside. Designed with a deep reverence for the land, 98 Acres blends eco-conscious living with refined comfort, offering an experience that is both nurturing and restorative. 98 Acres Resort and Spa takes its name from the picturesque 98-acre tea estate on which it is built. Back in Sri Lanka’s colonial era, the estate, then known as “Southerland Tea Estate”, was owned and managed by a British planter. Later, the estate came under the stewardship of the UHE Group and was renamed ‘Uva Greenlands’.
While continuing to produce high-quality Uva tea, the land revealed its potential as the ideal setting for a sustainable boutique resort. With panoramic views of Little Adam’s Peak and Ella’s refreshing climate, the vision for 98 Acres came to life, designed to preserve the natural surroundings while offering refined comfort. Today, it stands as a unique blend of heritage, nature, and understated luxury.
